　　Welcome to the Online Scholarship Processing System. Before you apply, please read the following information carefully:

　　General Eligibility Requirements: At the time of application, applicant must meet the following minimum criteria:

　　Currently enrolled at Cosumnes River College for a minimum of 6 units - unless the scholarship states otherwise.

　　Must have completed at least 6 units at CRC as of Fall 2013.

　　Application Materials:

　　When filling out the scholarship application, there is a time limit of 30 minutes to enter and submit the information. To avoid timing out and losing the information you entered, please have the following information ready:

　　Student ID number （your 7-digit identification number）

　　Date of birth

　　Continuing means returning to CRC in Fall 2014.

　　Transferring means advancing to a 4-year institution in Fall 2014.

　　Answers to the following:

　　Explain your educational goals;

　　Discuss your career goals;

　　Describe your current and previous college, and community service activities （include volunteer work）；

　　Describe your financial need and how you are financing your college education.

　　Applying for Scholarships:

　　After you have entered all your required information （listed above）， the online program will match you with scholarships for which you meet the basic requirements. It is your responsibility to read all of the requirements for each scholarship you have been matched with to ensure that you meet each of the additional requirements listed. （For example: being a single parent, re-entry student, using DSPS services, enrolled in ESL classes, show financial need, etc.） You must apply to each scholarship where you meet the basic and additional requirements. If you do not check any of the boxes to apply for the scholarships where you meet all the qualifications, then you have NOT applied to any scholarships and therefore, you can NOT be considered for any scholarships. （If you apply for scholarships where you do not meet all the qualifications, your application will be electronically removed prior to the scholarship selection committee screening for winners and you will not be considered.）

　　Online Recommendation:

　　You must have one recommendation submitted via our online form. Please note that some scholarships require additional online recommendations. The recommendation can be from a faculty or staff member at CRC, or from a current or former employer. It will be used for all scholarships. Provide this link https://scholarship.losrios.edu/RecommendationEntry.aspx, your student ID# and your last name to your recommenders.

　　Supplemental Materials:

　　Some scholarships may have other requirements such as a written essay or letter from an employer that must be turned in with your recommendation.   In order to qualify for that scholarship, it is necessary that you complete those requirements in addition to the standard application. Please submit your supplemental materials electronically by the filing deadline.

　　Financial Need:

　　Selection is not based entirely on your stated financial need. You will have an opportunity to explain how you are paying for your education on question #4 of the application.

　　Verification:

　　Your personal and academic information is what is currently on file with the Admissions and Records Office. If you find that it is not correct, please contact the Admissions and Records Office at the College.

　　Notification:

　　All students selected for awards will receive a notification letter. Students not selected for a scholarship will receive a written notice as well.

　　Disbursement of Funds:

　　Scholarship checks are disbursed August 1 – October 3, 2014.  Students must provide verification of registration （a class schedule）， still meet scholarship eligibility requirement and submit a thank you note to the donor（s） before a check will be generated or disbursed. Specific instructions and deadlines for obtaining scholarship checks are provided with each scholarship award certificate. Scholarships are not interchangeable, nor will they be held for use at a later date.

　　Screening:

　　Scholarship committee members will determine recipients of most scholarships.

　　Deadline for Applications:

　　In order for your application to be considered, you must submit the application online and all supplemental materials need to be submitted online by 4:30p.m., Friday, March 07, 2014.

　　Authorization:

　　By submitting an application, you （the student） are authorizing the various departments or committees at the College to access grade and course completion information. You also authorize the College to publicize information about the scholarship recipients.

　　Privacy and Security: In order to protect your privacy, it is extremely important to Log Out of the system when you have finished using it. The data that we collect from you will only be used for the purpose of determining your eligibility for scholarships, and will be protected from outsiders.
